There are two realities in our lives. The actual one and the perceptual reality, the idea we have about the reality of our lives.
Our idea about life determines the way we see and act in life. This idea is a perceptual reality. The perceptual reality is full of “I have to.”
I have to be right for the algorithm so this newsletter reaches more people.
I have to be right for societal rules, so I need to get married soon with the right person according to these rules.
I have to stay in a toxic work environment
I have to be right because my family expects a million things from me.
I have to, I have to, I have to…And somewhere along the way, life is no longer our pathway. We walk like acrobats, constantly balancing, living inside a continuous “I have to.” What if we reposition this phrase from a different angle, so the “I have to” becomes useful to us and to others?
How about starting to say:
I have to be responsible for myself. If I’m true to what I want, then I’m honest with myself and with others. No fake news, no imitations of others’ behavior — but my behavior.
I have to respect myself and others.
Therefore, all in all, I have to be true to what I think and feel.
Not to what others believe is right for me.
To walk the talk in my life, simply because is just one life.
Not according to others, but according to who I truly am.
And in reality, I am pure. I am true. I am authentic. I am lovable.
When we see life from this place, we evolve into our authentic self.
We act without hassle or any unnecessary struggle. Everything becomes easier. Effortless.
Life becomes easy and, most importantly Joyful.
So the real question is simple:
Are we living according to perceptual reality? Or according to our true reality?
Let’s figure it out together. Write down 10 beliefs others have about you and 5 thoughts that truly matter to you. Select which ones really work—for you and for others. Be objective, and choose again.
Keep the real beliefs. Your beliefs.
Let’s start 2026 the right way—and most importantly, let’s keep it this way. Not the others’ way.
